Pinellas County ACS/ARES

The 550 simplex net is an informal net and is not affiliated with any club, group or organization. Its purpose is to promote good will and fellowship in the amateur radio community and to test our equipment in simplex operation for emergency communications.

This net takes place on the NI4CE Repeater system.

This net is held weekly on the W4ACS repeater system. The repeater system operates on a frequency of 145.170 and 443.400 Mhz. To participate in this net, your radio must be capable of transmitting a sub-audible tone of 156.7 Hz. The W4ACS Repeater Systems transmits this sub-audible tone so CTCSS can be used. PinCo ACS performs maintenance on a subset of the Pinellas County Emergency communications equipment each Wednesday from 9AM to approximately 2PM. The maintenance performed each week is listed on the quarterly maintenance schedule. The schedule and associated maintenance procedures are located under the EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE tab on the home page.

This meeting is held at the Pinellas County Public Safety Complex on the third Thursday of each month. Please arrive at the EOC by 1845 so that you can be escorted into the building.

The Pinellas County CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Net meets the first and third Thursday of each month at 2000 local time on the W4ACS Repeater System. This net takes place on Saturday mornings at 0730 local on a frequency of 3.940 MHz or alternately 7.247 Mhz.
